Title: Figil vienna
Post by: Marne on Wednesday 01 June 16 12:11 BST (UK)
For a relative in Oz I am looking for the marriage of John Figil and Catherine Brieda in Vienna.   They had a daughter who was born in Austria   (Ann,Anne or even Anna)

Thank you for any help

Thank you for your help.

She came to England and married Thomas Dunn in Liverpool    he died in 1854 and she ended up in Oz.

Thank you again

FreeBMD has her as Anna Figala = I'll have another look at the Vienna records.

No luck again.  Figala is a common name in the area of Rychnov in the Czech republic, formerly Reichenau in the Austro Hungarian Empire so it does comes up in the Austrian archive material, but not in Vienna and not in combination with the name Brieda.

it would help if you posted the year of the marriage
am I wrong in presuming this is not the marriage - or - is this another spelling of her surname ??
