Am searching my grandparents family... Patrick Glancey married Margaret Marr Holland. Margaret comes from a long line of females named Agnes. However, I am unable to trace my grandfathers side. He was born 1926 and died around 1976 in the Isle of Man while on holiday. His parents are James Glancey and Norah Herrity. James was born 1889 died 1956 and Norah born 1899 and died 1979. That's as far as I can get... It is known Patrick's parents might have come from Ireland

ScotlandsPeople has James & Norah's 1916 marriage which you can get from them. This will give his father's name. He's called Glancy, without the "e".
The 1901 Irish census has 3 possibilities for him.

Norah's mother's maiden name is showing as Ryder on the death index on SP.
Adding this as it may be relevant(if the marriage cert. confirms details :-\ ) -

I'm related. Norah Glancy is my great granny, my mothers granny and my grannys mother. My two aunties, Nora and Margaret confirmed this, and as you'll see in the other four comments, the names kind of say it all. Norah and James had daughters Margaret (my granny), Norah and Vera.
