Sarah Lidington married Edward Bartlett at Buckingham on 20th June 1785. She died on 28th Jan 1844 and her death certificate shows as being 78 years old. This gives a birth year of around 1766

The record on the 1841 census is a bit odd but she appears to have been born 'Out of County' and is shown as being aged 70, so somewhere between 70 & 74 which does fit with her death certificate.

There are no clues in her will or that of her husband.

They had 5 known children, Sarah 1786, Anne 1789, Philip 1791, Robert 1792 and Thomas 1793.

Edward died in 1794 aged 39. His parents were Robert & Hester.

Can anyone help me find her parents, etc?

 thanks

 Edward

freereg has a Sarah Luddington baptised in Wollaston, Northants (around 30 miles from Buckingham) on 17 Sep 1760.  The age would be close enough to be a possibility.  There are Lidington/Luddington baptisms in various Northants parishes so this might be a line to tug.

 All the best
 Philip

There is a marriage 20 May 1782 Wollaston of Sarah LUDDINGTON to Joel Weed.

So possibly not the one we are looking for

There is a Sarah LUDINGTON christened 03 Aug 1766 to George and Philladellfa in Lavendon, Bucks.  I noticed you said Sarah had a son Phillip?!?!

George married Philadelphia LET at Levendon, Bucks 24 May 1763.

Seems there are other LUDINGTON/LUDDINGTON's to Lavendon as well.

 Bitzar.

Thanks for this, another one to follow up.

With the help of Claire, we have found another good candidate baptised at Whittlebury in 1765 whose mother was from Buckingham.

I am not going to update this thread any further due to discoveries made in the one below in regards to a baptism in Northamptonshire.
