Title: STAPLETON, Hugh and Jane
Post by: ferndale on Tuesday 10 May 16 21:14 BST (UK)
Hi all,
I have just received a couple of new threads to research. So far without any luck, so help is needed please.

I have a new Hugh and Jane Stapleton (No further info)

Son: John Stapleton Born 3/5/1751/2,  ST Botolph, Aldersgate, (Occupation is Engine Weaver.
(no wife as yet)

Son of John:  Samuel Stapleton B 1773- 1826 (Occupation Gold and Silver Wyre Drawer).
who was apprenticed to a William Sansum on 3 June 1800. (Source London Apprenticeship Abstracts, 1442-1850.

Previous  occupation of Samuel Stapleton could be a retailer of grain and allied products.

(I have four  children for Samuel Stapleton and Lucy Napper M 1809 Children B from 1816-23, but there could be more children from 1909 to 1816, possibly a George, Samuel and an Ann.

Would be grateful for any further information. Cheers ferndale

Hi ferndale

what's your source for the 1751/2 baptism of John, son of Hugh & Jane?

He seems to have been baptised at St James Piccadillyin Westminster not in the City of London at St Botolph

HI Rob,

Yes I do have a copy of his will. Many Thanks.  Very Hard to read though. I think there may be also at least 3 more children too.  maybe an Ann, Samuel and possibly a James.  But if they are like the rest of the family nick names and second names often used.  Just had a thought if I do have the right will?
PCC, 1826 right year (didnt find "corn chandler" in that muddle tho lol.
Cheers for now Dale
