Hi Penny,
Welcome to rootschat.
Can you please clarify maiden names for Ann...was it Cameron & Jane...was it Meek?
It is easier to work with females with given maiden names & not unheard of for people with same surnames marrying.
Have you found any of the families on census records, if so, when & where to save duplication of efforts?
Annie

Hi
They are sisters and their maiden names are
Ann Cameron MacDonald and Jane meek MacDonald

Is this them in 1891 census?:
Address: 13 Willisons Lane Port Glasgow Renfrewshire
Alexander Macdonald aged 28 born Port Glasgow Renfrewshire occ: Joiner
Maggie Macdonald aged 24 born Glasgow Lanarkshire
Jane Macdonald aged 16 months
If so this could be Margaret with her family in 1881
Address: 8 Montgomerie Street Port Glasgow Renfrewshire
John Walker aged 46 born Old Kilpatrick Dumbartonshire occ: Boilermaker
Jane Walker aged 45 born Langlean Lanarkshire
Elizabeth Walker aged 17 occ: Canvas Weaver
Margaret Walker aged 14 occ: Machine Girl (born Glasgow Lanarkshire)
John Walker aged 11
Charles Walker aged 8
Robert Walker aged 4

Donald and Ann McDonald are in Scarlow Street in the1861 census and some Cameron children also recorded living with them.
Ann McDonald aged 34
Donald McDonald aged 28
Jean aged 3
Alexander aged 4 months
Susan Cameron aged 15
Hugh Cameron aged 12
John Cameron aged 8<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
<<<<<<< think that this is John C McDonald reocrded in the 1871 census
EDIT; Looking at Jean aged 3 and the Carmeron children I would think that this is the marriage for Donald and Ann:
4th Sept 1856
Port Glasgow Renfrew Scotland
Donald McDonald
Ann Cameron

Hi Penny,
Welcome to rootschat :)
Sorry if I am slow ... :(
We are looking for the children of 2 of the sisters who emigrated to Western Australia in 1927.
Jane Meek MACDONALD b 1890 who married John WALKER
Anne Cameron MACDONALD b 1893 who married Donald MACDONALD
Is this correct?
If so did the sisters marry in Scotland or in Western Australia? (I can't see a marriage in W.A. at a quick glance)
Or am I way off track? Wrong generation??
regards,
Ros
-
Sorry Penny I was completely off-track wasn't I? :(
I think the Ann Cameron MACDONALD who emigrated to W.A. married Reginald DAVIDSON in 1928 in W.A. and was buried in 1963 http://www2.mcb.wa.gov.au/NameSearch/details.php?id=KB00122850
From W.A. BDM http://www.bdm.dotag.wa.gov.au/_
Death 1963
Ann Cameron DAVIDSON , father Alexander, mother Margaret, age 69 at Perth reg #3244
I hope I didn't put everyone else off-track ... :)
regards,
Ros
