Title: Property search
Post by: elacass on Friday 06 May 16 13:31 BST (UK)
I'm hoping someone may be able to help me find a property that since been demolished. Apparently the post code is no longer in use, hence why I've hit a brick wall and unsure what to do next.
I was hoping to find a J. A. who once lived there, he could have also been the last home owner of the property but I can't be sure.
J. A. died around 1997, and it was around about the same time that the house was demolished, give or take a couple of years. The property address was - 2 Haulfan (or Heulfan) terrace, Fron Haul, Tanygrisiau. The post code was LL41 3SD, but this postcode is no longer in use, so finding any info regarding this house is proving to be 'over my head'.

If it was council property you could contact them to see what their records show?

There are only 3 death registrations for a J.A. in Wales between 1995-1999

J. A. born 1905 August 1997 Denbighshire North Clwyd

J. W. A. born 1913 May 1995 Pontypridd Glamorgan

V. J. A. born 1913 June 1996 Colwyn Clwyd

Exactly what information are you trying to obtain about the house?

Don't know if this will help but states the property was sold for £25.000 Oct 1997.

Maybe the land registry can help

The house can be found on www.old-maps.co.uk

This link should take you to it. Zoom out until you can see the detail. If any problems, it is on the 1977 1:2500 map. Also shows on earlier maps but no name.

Hello! I'm new to this website and currently doing my own investigation on my family. I came across your post whilst doing some googling and I can tell you This man is still alive and well. Would you like it if I passed this post along so he could answer any questions?

Hi Welcome to Rootschat  :)

elacass has not been online since Aug 2016, but should get an email of your reply if their email is the same.

Are you sure they are the same man? Rootschat has a policy of not naming any living individuals to protect identity from Internet abuse.

I do know he is alive as he is a friend and i know he use to live at that residence. Im sorry I was not aware of this policy but this man in question is alive, it is a small town and there are no others with this name that lived at this adress.

It is not your fault as you did not name him, the OP presumed him deseased. I will ask a mod to just give initials, or something, it's up to them.

If elacass returns you will need to make about 3 posts to activate your personal messages.  Just say ok after this and you should be able to chat off the board, if they return.
