Good Evening
I am hoping someone may be able to help
On Ancestry I can find a Marriage between Mary Gourlay and Robert McCrea 30 Sept 1853, but on Scotlands People I am unable to find the marriage.
I am hoping Mary's parents will be Robert Gourlay and Mary Taylor.
Regards

:-[ I have found it lol, I put in the correct spelling this time. ::)
It didn't help with the parents though

Moo, pre 1855 you seldom get any mention of anything on the Old Parish Registers (father of the bride at most sometimes). Did Mary die in Scotland? Her death cert should include her parents' names.

Ww 129 Robert MacRae Mary Gourlay http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/SCT-FIFE/2003-11/1068733710
Mention there of a gravestone for them which should indicate that they died in Scotland.

Hi Moo and Monica
The Wemyss parish records have been transcribed and are on Freereg. Unfortunately no parent's names are given." At Wemyss Parish Church 30 Sep 1853 Robert Macrae, West Wemyss, Collier and Mary Gourlay."
Re Wemyss mi's there I am sure there are a couple of threads on here.

Hello Margaret /joedog
So glad you replied, we were in contact ages ago regarding family connections, but my computer died and so did most of my contacts. This was one of the families I lost as well.
Thank you
