Born 4 Apr 1894 Romford,England died 14 Apr 1962 Newcastle Natal South Africa (Death Notice and grave stone)
I find him (I think) on the 1901 Census with his father George and mother Emily and 3 silbings in Willesden, Hendon, Middlesex, where did they go after that and when did George leave England?
and what is father's occupation - ?? machine coll??
-
His father is recorded as an Automatic machine collect[?] in the 1901 census.
He was a clerk when Sidney George and Emily Dorothy were baptised together at St Augustine, Kilburn on 25 March 1896.
He was a "manager of cycle shop" when Cicely Florence and Laurence William were baptised together at St Andrew, Willesden on 9 September 1900.
Occupation was "traveller" on the baptism of Frances Ethel at Willesden, 13 Oct 1901.
-
Later children were born outside London:
1904 (Dec qtr): Albert James, born in Bristol.
1907 (Jun qtr): Cyril Edward, born in Keynsham, buried (Commonweath War Grave) in Sydney in 1946.
1908 (Dec qtr): Olive May, born in Bristol.
Free 1911 index suggests the family had moved to Hampshire, but Sidney may not have been with them.

So it looks as if Sydney and his mother were baptised at the same time.
edited Emily DOROTHY not Emily MARTHA, I confuse myself with these names :-\ :-[
Certainly changed occupations a lot. Ok I see that family in 1911 and his occupation seems to be Salesman (??) for Automatic Machines. No Sydney...
Would he have left for South Africa at such an early age? Or just working somewhere else....

So it looks as if Sydney and his mother were baptised at the same time.
Not mother - Emily Dorothy was his sister (birth reg Mar qtr 1896 Hendon).
