I have been sorting through the photos of my late grandmother, who died in 1978. She had many pictures of families from the Waimamaku district in the Hokianga: names TILLS, ZANK, PARLANE, LETTS, FELL, WHITEFIELD.
Others in the collection, not necessarily from the north are: JONES, Tuakau; McMURTRIE - Marjorie, Dorothy, Lexie; McCORMICK Nell, Bill, Elstow; DUNCAN - May and family, Christchurch; PHILLIPS - G. A., Women's Institute; FLOWERDAY - Charlie (in army uniform); WOOLANS - Mrs Dave, Tauranga; no surname, but twins FLORENCE and FANNY; HARDEN, Mr and Mrs (wedding photo approx. 1910-1914); BROWN, Mrs and Brenda; SANDS - Mr and Mrs and family, Remuera; GREY - Lily, Robert, Margaret, Isobel, Mr and Mrs, near Cambridge; also a picture of the Grey family home between Leamington and Pukerimu.
I haven't yet been able to scan them all, but would be happy to do so on request. I would hate to have to get rid of them if there's anyone who would like any of them.

I would be happy to post it to you, as it is one of the many that I don't want to keep. It is a postcard picture of a man with a large moustache and a high collar - a real postcard, as it was posted from George Whitefield to my grandmother. It reads "Dear May, Joe is going with the launch to Opononi on Sunday to meet Miss White. It would be a good chance for you to get up if you care to come. Ruth and I would be very pleased to have you as long as you like to stay."
It isn't dated, and has no stamp, so must have been sent in an envelope.

Hi, thanks for the kind offer. If it's not too late I'd love to get copies of Parlane photographs - Robert & Rachel are my GGGparents.

Hi there, I know this post was originally created a long time ago, but I'm wondering if you still have the picture of Dorothy, Marjorie, Lexie McMurtrie. Please let me know. Thanks! -K

Hello,
My husband is a direct descendant of William Mather Letts and Minnie Emily Letts who came to NZ from Warwickshire, England in the late 1800s. They lived out their lives in Waimamaku. They had a shop there and William was the postmaster for the area. We only discovered this family link last year when I started a family tree. We went to visit Waimamaku and were thrilled to see the building that was the second shop the family owned (the first one burnt down). We also met descendants of a number of families who lived in Waimamaku when our Letts ancestors were there. It was an amazing experience.
I see that your post was from 2016, but I hope you get this message. I would love to see any digital photos if you have copies.
Thank you and best wishes
