Hi, I am trying to find a birth / baptism for a Martha Hall according to 1851 to 1891 census's she was born in Windsor with a variety of dates between 1810 and 1818.
She married in 1835 in St Pancreas.
I am struggling to find any Windsor records I have tried family search and IGI.
Any suggestions?
Thanks Wendy.

Thanks for your reply and information.
That's quite along way from Windsor though isn't it?
The trouble is I know nothing prior to her marriage except what is on the census
-
What was her married name?
-
She married John Breeze Goffin in 1835

FindMyPast has some transcripts for Clewer, Old Windsor & New Windsor but no Martha around the right time.

Thanks for looking for me.

Hi,
6 miles isn't much in terms & she may have thought she was born in Windsor if the family moved when she was young?
Do any of her children (if she had any) have middle names which may give clues?

Windsor is around 40 miles from Newbury where that one was baptised ;)
Perhaps you should also be considering neighbouring Surrey. Windsor is/was right on the edge of Berks / Bucks and Surrey.

I was going to reply that Newbury was not near to Windsor .
I will condsider anything that sounds reasonable.
She had 11 children but the only unusal middle name is one from Norfolk where she was living at the time.
Thanks again.

I should have looked at your location ;D ::)
I have had problems with Windsor before and am not convinced about the coverage on FindMyPast. I think familysearch/IGI only goes up to 1812 on Old Windsor and New Windsor only appears to be Wesleyan, Independent and St Georges Chapel. I sometimes find records for Egham classed as Windsor, sadly the Martha Hall baptised there was born c1807.

It looks as though I might have to wait for more records to come on line or a visit to the record office .

I live in Windsor....my daughter lives in Newbury....35 minutes along the motorway so it's not really near Windsor.

Hi I always have problems with Windsor births, 1841 does not help, even the children in 1851 b Kentish Town are shown as b in County?!
Elizabeth Goffin 68
Martha 31
Robert 4
Elizabeth 3
John 1
Residing Laundry, Woodbastwick, Norfolk
Census ref HO107/785/ 13/7 / 9

So at least 1841/51 b c 1810?

In the 1891 census Martha is lodging with a SARAH A HALL aged 30 who was born Bloxham, Oxfordshire. Is she a relation you could possibly trace back to see if she's family ?

Sorry...just a quick look at a previous post (not knowing the geography), I thought the 6 miles was close :-[

By the way, are you aware that this is a duplicate post with the other 2 pages long?

Hi, I believe that I am related to Martha Hall who married John Breeze Goffin! Would you mind contacting me? It would be interesting to know if we're related!🙂
