Title: William Simpson BELL
Post by: The Putter on Wednesday 23 March 16 15:52 GMT (UK)
My great grandfather William Simpson Bell was a publican finishing his landlord duties in the Queens Head in Blyth. My grandmother was born here in 1899 and, on her baptism certificate for that year her father has three christian names. The William and Simpson are easy to read but the third one has me stumped.Any eagle eyed folk out there ?

The heading of that column is parents' names , not parent's names, thus parent in the plural

I think it says Lizzie Ann, underneath William Simpson.  So both parents named.

:-[ Of course it is ! Lizzie Ann was her mother. Good grief I must be getting old not to have worked that one out, plus, once I read your reply the name literally jumps out. Thank you.
