Thanks Rosie
that is a possibility although age is slightly out, area is about right

It looks like Sonning Berks
1851 it definately is Sonning Berks and Charles is age 27 and 4 children between ages 7mths and 7 years
Possibly age on 1861 is a badly written 36 or 38??

Thanks Suz
Much appreciated, it ties up a few loose ends for me, although my distant relatives are actually descended from his wifes second marriage to Charles Chesterman in 1865, I felt the need to identify this man 'just for the records' lol

Hi just spotted this thread, did he marry Sarah Miles in 1844 Reading?
Agree with b c 1824 for Charles, this looks a likely 1841 for him:-
Elizabeth EGELTON 45
Hannah 18
Eliza 11
Mary 8
Charles 17
Residing King Street, Hurst, Wokingham, Berkshire
Census ref HO107/28 / 3/6 / 7
Possible baptism :-
Charles Eggleton 14th September 1823 Berks and Oxford Father Thomas Mother Elizabeth

Thanks again Suz and Keyboard, this is great stuff . I have to be careful as there are 2 marriages of Chas Eggleton to a Sarah, Miles is definitely one of them and the most likely given the dates. This will be a project for another day but has been an enjoyable break from the mainstream research which has slowed considerably.
Thanks again and kind regards
Eddie
