Can anyone please decipher what my relative was charged with ,I get up to "did allow one ???? his property  to wander on the public road "

I would guess at cattle too. I have many ancestors in killashee longford who split land between themselves and then proceeded to fall out with each other over wandering cattle. Many of my lot in court being fine over 'did let one goat/cow wander into property of....'

As said already usually cow, horse, donkey or similar.
Sometimes people were grazing the 'long acre', that is allowing animals to graze the grass on the road side verge, free grass but illegal.

Thanks I did think this myself .I think it may say    pig.  As it does look like a dotted I in the middle of the short word .Whatever it was he was fined 1 shilling !!
