Hi all.
I wasnt sure where to put this so hope its ok to post here.
I am really excited as I have the chance over Easter to visit a town from my family history research!!!
My ancestors were Huguenots from Poitou Charentes and came from a town/village called Le Mothe.
The ancestor who can over in was Phillipe Larcher.
If anyone has any information on where to go to in this town I would really appreciate it.
I will be there for around 12 hours, from a Wednesday evening to a Thursday afternoon.
Thanks.

Still finding my own way around, so not sure if this is the right place or not!
Was a bit confused by your post as to whether you will be visiting France or whether you are visiting a town your ancestor 'came over' (in the UK) to?
I don't know where best to visit in that particular French town, but if it is a town in the UK you are visiting, let us know which one.

Hello Karen and welcome to Rootschat!
Is your ancestor from La Mothe-Saint-Heray-Deux-Sevres in Poitou Charente where there is a chateau (I see from google?)

There is this website which gives details of what there is to see whilst you are there.

Hi,
Thank you for that.
Yes my ancestor is from La Mothe-Saint-Heray-Deux-Sevres in Poitou Charente .
He was born in this town in 1679 and came over to the UK at around the time the Huguenots were coming over.
He is on the list of Huguenots from the Huguenot Society.
It does look like a lovely place.
