Hi Susan
Where did you get the 60th Regiment information from? She is not in barracks in 1881. But living nearby.
The 60th had four battalions but none were in Preston in 1881. Their Depot was in Winchester. They had light infantry in their title for less than a month in 1824.
From the early 1870s Fulwood was the Depot for the 47th and 81st Regiments who merged in July 1881 to form the Loyal North Lancs Regiment.
Unfortunately they destroyed the records of soldiers who died while serving.

Hi Ken, she has this document. we think they where still there in 1878 as another child had died.
When she came back, we think she was a widow.

Sorry dont think the attachment worked, could it have been 68th light infantry x

68th Regiment would be better. They were the 68th (Durham) Regiment of Foot (Light Infantry) until 1881.
