Many thanks for your time in looking at this photo
I would love this to be restored. I have no idea who this or or when - any idea of a timeframe - I am afraid I don't have the reverse of this one
Regards

suecrilly I am not sure what the date of this photo is but i was able to fix some of the issues and bring some of the faded people back.

Thank you so much - it is much better
Loving the little old man at the end who appears to have had a little too much ale !!

Sorry, can't help with the technical side but I like the old bloke too - and the cheeky lad sitting at the front so the grownups can't see where he's putting his finger ;D

Early-mid 1900's.

A clean up as best as I could manage.
I thought the man sitting cross legs was asleep, but his eyes are open, just about! As you say Sue, I think he has been enjoying a glass or three of ale.

I think the cross on the white hat on one of the ladies could be significant Sue.

Hi Carol
How ? The cross ?
Sue

Someone may have written a cross on the hat to identify her.

The chap sat on the floor first row of adults, far right !! with his hat 90 degee out of place ;D looks like he's had a real good time and few jars of beer for free.

Great photo! Are there two brides? There seem to be two identically dressed ladies in white in the front row, possibly two well dressed gents and an older lady in between the couples - she also has a bouquet. :-\ :)

It's a really interesting photo. Only seven men but nineteen women (if I've counted correctly, and the person standing at the right isn't a chap in drag!). I wonder if it's a publicity shot for a theatrical production? There are many characterful faces who look very comfortable in front of the camera, rather than the scared rabbit look often seen. The comical elements of the fellow on the right and boy at the front just add to the idea of it being a performance.
If it turns out to be a family wedding photo then please accept my apologies for casting nasturtiums! They all look great fun ;)
Heather
P.s. could the two identically dressed ladies be bridesmaids or is it too early for that to be likely? Also I think the cross on the other lady's hat looks like a bow rather than a penned mark.

Thank you so much for your replies
Gave me a chuckle ;D
I really have no idea neither does the lady who it belongs to
We were trying to get an idea when it was taken to try annd pinpoint it a bit more

My take on it is, to the left of the bride is her mother and father and next to him the bridesmaid is her sister, to the right of the groom is his mother who appears to be a widow. I think the cross on the hat is a mark made by a pen. None of that identifies who they are but great photograph and characters.

It would be useful to have the ladies head that has a cross on her hat scanned at about 800dpi in isolation to the rest of the photo and compare it with photos of females from around the same time...Just a point to consider.

The picture looks Edwardian with them portable patio garden ladies flowery hats or post 1901
-
I thinlk we can safely say that its not a meeting of the Temperance Movement, judging by the chap on the right.
-
I think its a wedding group of guests only photo after the marriage as the bride would have chucked her bouquet and she is seen with her bouquet in church and she is last to arrive with the man who gives her away usually before any group photo's also this photo taken long after formal party or the booze started flowing. Bride and groom left with the cans rattling
Chap sat on the floor on the right ------- burp !. ;D
