Going a little demented here.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a map of old Kinning Park showing Anderson Street circa 1930
Keep getting diverted to Partick which I don't want.
I know that most of the old streets ended up under the M8

Anderson Street, Kinning Park became Sleads Street at some point - in the 1943 Directory is is listed as this but in the 1930 Directory it is still listed under its original name. (it ran off of West Scotland Street)
-
Thanks, now to look for Sleads St

Maybe later than 1920s, Falkryn? There is a mention here of Anderson Street, Kinning Park in the 1931-2 Post Office Directory for Glasgow.

Anderson Street ran from West Scotland Strret to Vermont Street - the street is shown but not named in the 1912 plan of Glasgow at the NLS - I have checked my older maps and confirmed its location

Yes, I spotted that after I had posted ::)
It looks like it happened sometime before the 1935/36 Directory was published and after the 1930/31 issue
-
Thanks to you both

Vermont Street can still be seen on modern maps and judging by them Anderson Street was around where Junction 22 of the M8 is now
-
I must have driven across it many times.

I had bookmarked this site...badly, only just found it again in my list!
Lots of town maps, a number around the 1930s, including a 1935 map of Glasgow http://www.artus-familyhistory.com/source/Early%20Maps.html
