Did Thomas Rae emigrate to Canada?
His parents were Peter McGowan Rae & Margaret McDonald.
He had one brother, John born in 1894, who died in 1915 & 2 sisters: Margaret born in 1901 & Jessie born in 1905.
Would appreciate it if anyone can help.

As suggested at replies 1, 4 & 8 of the 2nd link - have you checked the 1911 census to see if parents show any children died? Have you checked Scotlands People for a marriage/ death for Thomas?
The fact that neither he nor his brother reported their fathers death is not positive proof that neither were "available" to do so.

CaroleW...
Have already checked Death & Marriage records......nothing!
Have already seen 1911 Census......whole family listed: Peter - Father, Maggie - Wife, John, Thomas, Maggie & Jessie (& 2 brothers of Maggie....the wife).
John....the oldest son died in 1915, so reason HE did not register his Father, Peter's death in 1918. So daughter Maggie (my Grandmother) registered their Father Peter's death.
Believe Thomas not around at that time.
Rumour/info is that Thomas emigrated.......so looking for evidence & possible subsequent family members.

Re: 1911 image - how many children were shown as born to the marriage and how many were shown as still living?

In order to avoid a duplication of efforts please check the US thread linked above before posting here as I have found Thomas in Michigan. I have already posted information from a number of passenger lists, the 1930 & 1940 US census, his marriage in Scotland, etc there. I haven't found his death yet.

Peter McGowan Rae and Maggie Rae nee McDonald were my great, great grand parents. I am descended from their daughter Jessie. I think Tom did emigrate to Canada and I may have some family photos. Sorry I can't access them just now will post tomorrow.
