Geoff E.....has anyone told you to-day ! YOU ARE AMAZIN'
thank you so much....can't believe you did that already !!!!
Poor things living in a stable !!

Checking on Lionel Maddison......aged 9 months in 1841....
Was he the baby son of the Maddison's of Partney Hall ???
According to I G I he was born 27 Aug 1840 at Partney Hall
Ch. at St Nicholas' Partney on 21 Sept. 1840
(and died in 1856)
He was the son of George Wilson Maddison & Frances Elizabeth (Bellingham)....
Did my Ann Jackson....sleeping in a stable......act as wet nurse ! and feed him along with her own 10 month old !!
Who was Ann Calvert ? His own nursemaid maybe??
Geoff - do you have the Maddison's details from Partney Hall ??? was Lionel missing ?

My guess would be that your lot kidnapped the posh kid and were holding him to ransom until they were given a cottage. Was Partney House very big? There don't seem to be many servants.

I don't think so....I never heard of it before searched for Lionel !
I think they probably had other houses. I found that some of the Maddisons were from Richmond in Yorkshire....Frances Bellingham was born at Castle Bellingham in Ireland...which I haven't heard of either.
On the 1861 census - the enumerator doesn't even list Partney House as an address....it is just down as Spilsby Road.....but of course, Lionel would have died by then.....
I wonder if she nursed other children......she certainly had plenty of her own !
thank you again...K
