Locating where he is now or his death do you mean?

Where he is or any family members. They lost contact after he was posted away from Eglinton. I'm not totally sure if this is the correct family. I'm looking for anyone that may have known them.

There is a Social Security application for William Hollis Craig born 1 Jan 1917 in Atlanta, Georgia to Andrew M. Craig and Willie M. Jones.  It says he died 12 May 1993.

The Georgia death index says his death occurred in DeKalb County and his county of residence was Gwinnett.  The Social Security death index gives his last residence as Norcross, Gwinnett Co., Georgia.

Firstly Thanks for the reply. Yes This is the same person I found also. I also managed to get his army enlistment record but it doesn't say where he was posted unfortunately. Im 90% sure that this is him but I can't get any info on him prior to his death or maybe someone who may have known him.

Have you looked for an obituary for him?  Or followed his siblings' lives forward?  There is probably a survivor still around somewhere.

You could order his military records - http://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records/standard-form-180.html

You listed 5 names of siblings in the first post.  Is that the right family?

You could try to contact the local public library to see if they do look-ups for obituaries.  They have a form for questions here - http://ask.gwinnettpl.org/

Sorry I meant children other than my mother in law. Im going to contact the library to see if they have any obituary notices for him which might possibly list his children. Thanks for the link...

Hi

As you say you are in Ireland,  did William Craig marry your wife's grandmother or was an illegitimate child born prior to or after he left Eglinton

If they married - you mention William is buried with his wife - is she your wife's grandmother or did she die/divorce and he re-married?

No he was posted here in 1942 and was shipped out before my mother in law was born in 1943. He left his address murphy avenue atlanta Georgia. He was single at the time. But never came back.

There is an obituary for Calvin F. Craig, William's brother, here - http://www.nytimes.com/1998/04/24/us/calvin-f-craig-64-enigma-in-klan-and-civil-rights-work.html

This appears to be the burial of sister Mabel mentioned in Calvin's obituary - http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=44554322&ref=acom

And sister Marjorie's burial - http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=100123766&ref=acom
