I did a quick colour version for you also tonight. It helps bring more life into an old photo. , Tommy

Thank you very much Tommy. It certainly does look nice in colour. Thank you for taking the time to do this for me. Much appreciated. Now to send it to a relative in the hope that she might know who these people are. Fingers crossed.

Thank you very much Martyn. Looks great. Thank you for taking the time to do this for me.

Older sister, younger sister. A studio portrait but what a strange seat!
-
I was thinking Mother and daughter, but you could be correct, and they are sisters. Yes, the seat is strange. This would have been taken in a country town in Victoria, Australia, if it is who we think it is, so perhaps it is a bale of hay.
-
I thought mother and daughter too. Lots of fabric in those dresses - imagine the work in sewing them.

Another for the family archive,

Some nice colour versions already posted, so this is just a clean up with a little tone work.
Cheers,
Kevin

Thank you very much Japeflakes. They all look so nice, and much improved without the nasty brown mark on the young girl's face.
