Please could anyone help me?
I know that Elizabeth Forrest married Charles Haxforth in St Hilda's on 27/4/1845, and her father was William Forrest.
Please, could anyone look up this marriage for me to give me the further details, in particular, William's profession? I'd be very grateful for any help,
Many thanks,
Kit

It looks like both Ancestry & FindMyPast only have index record transcriptions - the only extra bit of information on these that you have not mentioned in your message is that Charles' father was George
-
...however in the 1851 census he lists occupation as Mariner
-
...however you did not ask for Charles occupation!! Sorry

Hi,
Thanks for your replies - the reason for my post is that what I really need is William's profession - this would prove that it's the right Elizabeth (there were a few William Forrest's around South Shields at this time).
Thanks again,
Kit

Yes, sorry was too quick and did not read your message properly!
Was Elizabeth born in 1825? There is a baptism record in South Shields for Elizabeth 25/09/1825 giving father as William and mother as Frances. Cannot find a Frances and William in any of the census records - there is a Frances in South Shields 1851 of the right age to be the mother and another record for a William (married) as a visitor at an address in Sunderland (occupation Tailor)

have you tried Durhamrecordsonline? If the marriage is not on there then you may have to get the certificate, unless you can get the register film to search at your nearest LDS centre. Worldwide and listed on familysearch.

Hi Bertie and sillgen,
Thanks for your replies. Elizabeth (I think) was the one baptised in 1825; her father, William died soon after and her mother remarried (so that's why they are not on Census records).
But, to be absolutely sure that the 1845 marriage is the right one, I really need to see William's profession. The marriage is not even listed on durhamrecordsonline, which is very frustrating!
Thanks again,
Kit

Durham Records Online is still very much a work in progress. Currently they only have St Hilda marriages from 1813 to 1837.
-
I couldn't find a Charles Haxworth on Durham Records. There are quite a few Elizabeth Forrest's however. The only marriage for that date was with a William Wompra and the dates were close (21 Apr 1849).

Please see reply #8 :) Durham Records Online only have the relevant records for St Hilda's South Shields up to 1837.

The Elizabeth Forrest/William Wompra marrriage was in Hartlepool District :)

Hi Jen B and diroka,
Thanks for your kind replies - I really do appreciate them. I was wondering if only some of the records were covered by durhamrecordsonline, so thanks for confirming that.
Hi Trish,
Thanks for your reply -yes that's my lot - we must be related!
Thanks very much for the data - I did not have the burial for Elizabeth Rennison in 1819, so that's great.
I'm concentrating on my Forrests at the moment, but soon my attention will turn to my Rennisons, so please, can I contact you again, if necessary, shortly?
Thanks again to you all,
Kit

To see what PR's they have go to 'What we offer' and then select 'Parish Records'.

Hi Kit,
Any queries just add this to and I will be notified.
We may be distantly related somewhere along the line through the Purdys.
Trish :)
