Title: John Whitty died in Axminster in 1705

Hello,

My ancestor John Whitty mentioned a leasehold estate called Simons Downe in Axminster in his will.
Can anyone please tell me whereabouts in Axminster this may be?

Have a look at http://www.oldemaps.co.uk/axminster-map.htm where an area called Symonds Down is shown, SE of Axminster just above the logo for olde maps.

Thank you so much. Now all I have to do is find out whether South Street and Silver Street were in that area.
