Hiya Rach
I'm struggling to locate him on earlier censuses from what you say.
Would it be possible to give the 1901 census details please?
Or if you have him in 1881
www.familysearch.org (http://www.familysearch.org)
Is he by any chance married to a Luiza??
kind regards, Arranroots ;)

Hi
Ive recently found Henry Beynon & Margaret Killas marriage Certificate.
His Father was David Beynon from Llangyfelach, Swansea. But im having no luck finding him on any census.

I think we need to approach this in easy steps - for my benefit anyway!
Please can you tell me everything you know about Henry and his family. What was his father's occupation? Was he married in swansea? Even his own children's names may help, as there is often a pattern of naming in families.
BEYNON is not as common as some Welsh surnames, but there are still too many to trawl through on the off-chance! I just did 74 on the 1861 and my eyes are popping now ;D
anything, everything...

Hi Heres what I know
Sorry I should have put ALL details in my 1st post.
RG13/5111
GOSPORT STREET, LAUGHARNE
Henry Beynon (head) age 48 General Farm Laborer Born Carmarthen, Laugharne.
However On the Marriage certificte it says that Henry Beynon was born in Llangyfelach, Swansea! & His fathers name was David Beynon.
Margaret (wife) age 47 Born Carmarthen, Laugharne
John Henry (son) age 2 Born Carmarthen, Laughrane
David thomas (son) age 1 Born Carmarthen, Laugharne
I have the birth certificate for the son John Henry Born 30 April 1898, Mother Margaret formerly Killa
I know from relatives:
Sons:
Sydney Beynon (who died young)
Charlie Beynon (who played the organ at St Martins church in Laughrane)
I hope this is what will help.
I do have other information about the sons & who they married etc but I dont know if that will help.
Again Many thanks

Morning Rach!
this is my mission for the day then!
I don't suppose it says David's occupation on Henry's marriage cert? ::)
Off I go...

A breakthrough!
RG10/5495 8 10
David Martha BEYNON H M 54 - lab wife - Laugharne
Harry BEYNON son U 19 - labourer - ditto
Address: 40 Gosport St, Laugharne
For some reason Martha is indexed as Dorothy ??? David's name is crossed out and hers written over the top on the original image - he must be away working I suppose, or she would be given as a widow.

There is a possibility for David
David BEYNON serv M 55 - general servant - Laugharne
Living at Llandeilo Fawr
No other Davids of about the right age who do not have families with them.
A ;)

and to follow...
RG11/ 5395 57 10
BEYNON David H M - labourer - Laugharne
BEYNON Martha W M - ditto
BEYNON H-y son [-] 28 - lab - ditto
Address: Gosport, Laugharne

Had earlier been unsure about this one because of the age. It is indexed as 56, and could be either 56 or 36 on the original image. I include it for your interest:
RG12/4474 89 24
THOMAS Daniel H M 63 - steelworks lab - Carmarthen
THOMAS Ann W M 67 - Glamorgan
GEORGE Thomas boarder M 34 - gen lab - Laugharne, Carm
BEYNON Henry boarder U 36/ 56 - ditto - ditto
and next door
GOODSHIP Martha H W 58 - Carmarthen
BEYNON David U 26 - worker tinworks - Glamorgan
GOODSHIP Mary dau U 16 - dom serv - Glamorgan
Address for Henry - 3 College Row, Llangefelach
The similar names in the second household may be relevant. don't think it is Henry's mother, due to the ages, but may be a rellie??

In 1861 I can find the same (?) David BEYNON in Llandeilo Fawr, this time a farm servant working for a PROSSER family.
Ref: RG9/4130 87 4
No sign of Martha or Henry though.
