With yet another, earthquake the people of Christchurch have just copped another Biggie, a 5.7 - Reports of damage on Stuff, But no injury reports yet! Poor beggars, they've certainly had their share!
http://www.stuff.co.nz
Hope all you Christchurch people are OK!!
-
No injuries or deaths. I hope that is the final outcome. Is the Marmite Factory safe this time?
-
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Vegemite's better anyway!!
Last biggie someone I know tried to sell some Tubes of Marmite on TradeMe! At some ridiculous price! Not for any of the Christchurch fundraisers, selfish so and so!!
Ha! But didn't make any sales! And don't think it was relisted either!
Good!

Her Majesty's New Zealand Government should pass a law to stop profiteering if there is a Marmite Shortage. And keep the old flag.

Only a week out from the fifth anniversary of the first one. I am sure they will arise above it again. Speaking from experience not nice being in an earthquake. No doubt our ChCH Rootschatters will pop in when they can.

Thanks to jaybelnz for making us aware of this.
My d-i-l teaches some Maori kids at one of our local high schools. Their family moved here from Christchurch after the big one. D-i-l and colleagues will be keeping an eye out for them on Monday.

Hi all
Just fine and dandy here in Christchurch, lovely 30 deg day and another for tomorrow ;D
Yes the shake came as a surprise and we are aware of more to come over the next 10 years or so.
Rattled nerves for many, My neighbour was in tears and shaking like a leaf, it is most important to be close to your neighbours and check up on them and make sure they are alright. Once again the East side with the cliffs took the brunt of the force. I think it will upset a few who just had their homes fixed.
Shops, schools etc are back open today and will only close if anything is over a mag 5.
Shame we can not have a weather forecast for quakes.

Good to hear from you Suzy. :)

As Suzy said, a beautiful day and shake free so far.
I was at work in a retirement village, our biggest worry is a resident falling but all were fine. The residents took it all in their stride but the staff didn't!
I was sitting in reception with a huge chandelier above me that thought it should dance:( I moved my chair very quickly:)
Cheers

14 Feb is my wife's birthday. We were up on top of the Port Hills in the Gondola Restaurant having a lunch for her. It sure shook up there but nobody injured.

Know the feeling Annie, we where in Vanuatu when we experienced a 7.5 earthquake, the ceiling fan above the bed at 4am was getting up speed from side to side.

I just saw that on Geonet alamar! Can't be very comfortable down there for all you Cantabrians, you must have nerves of steel! Aftershocks can't be pleasant, but pleased you are all still thankful about ONLY a 4.3! Stay safe Christchurch!
