I wonder if anyone has historical information on this area/address which I know no longer exists. I have tried without much success to find a detailed map going back to the 1870's. I have relatives living there in 1871, employed as miners.
Many thanks.

There is still a Good Hope Close in Normanton?
And I found this post on another site (Curious Fox):
Chapel row was one of three streets off Pontefract Road which formed a little community. At the top of the streets, on Pontefract Road, stood Hopetown Methodist Chapel and behind was Goodhope Row, Chapel Row and Foxbridge Row. None of these are still standing. The site is now part of a large industrial estate.

Have you contacted the local archives to ask if they hold any maps?

In the sixties I used to live on Pontefract Road opposite Chapel Row just up the road from Good Hope Row we didn't call it Hopetown we called it Loscoe all the houses were demolished about 1970 for a map go to maps.nsl.uk/geo/find/ and type Whitwood in you will find Good Hope row in the maps what appear for the various years at the side 1890/1894 hope this helps.

Find the big bold black letters very bottom on the map NORMINGTON
Above the last letter N look for Hope town
Just above Hope town over the H in Hope Town is Good Hope Row
