Title: Lilian VASEY marriage in Huddersfield
Post by: yorkshire lad on Sunday 07 February 16 11:08 GMT (UK)
Hi, can anyone offer any info on a marriage in Huddersfield in 1st quarter of 1935, between Lilian Vasey and Harry Booth. I have found a registered birth for Lilian in 1st quarter of 1914 in Huddersfield, and found a birth in Huddersfield of 18 October 1913, these are not necessarily the same. Any information regarding their marriage would be appreciated.
Many thanks,
Yorkshire Lad.

Hi

To lookup a marriage you need to provide info as to where it took place.  If the venue is unknown - you will need to buy a copy

The Huddersfield RD covered many areas

Its always worth a try by posting.

The inbetween wars period (of haves & have not folk) post WW1 1919 to WW2 1939- this was a time of incorporating the depression years, also the very latter end years of the 19th century servant culture for the upper class peoples servants also middle class business people who had one maid with a chauffer/gardener and working class folk working for peanuts with long hours in factories earning a barely livable wage. The Workhouse was still going strong !!!

Therefore register office marriages were the order of the day ' for have not's' by the bucket load

Roaring twenties for the 'dress for dinner !! have all folk'
