Hello
I am looking for anyone who may be able to help with information about Henry Paton who was killed in action in France in 1917. According to the Scottish War Graves Project, a photograph of him and his three brothers appeared in the Wigtownshire Free Press of 30th December 1915. It would be amazing to see a photo of him and his brothers. They were my wifes 1st cousins 2x removed.
Also, he was reported in the same paper dated 25 February 1915, regarding his enlistment, and finally on 22 March 1917 the same paper reported his death.
Many thanks for any help

Glen.
The free Press are currently going back 100 years each week, and its possible that they would have been mentioned in 1 of last months issues.
Ill go in tomorrow morning and have a look for you.
If there, ill get you a copy of the paper and send it on to you.
If not ill look into it for you , but may take a few days.

I have managed to get a copy of last months Free Press, and it contains the
photos of 4 Paton Brothers, from the corresponding Free Press from December
1915.

Hi Allan
That's brilliant news. It would be fantastic to see a copy of the page with the photos of the four brothers.
It's such a coincidence that we found out about the paper almost exactly 100 years after the date of publication.
Many thanks
