My Great Grandfather "John Touzel"
In 1908 he married in Southampton Hampshire England and his wife and children are there in the 1911 census , and
he dies in Hampshire apart from that and a possibly in the 1881 census , I cant find him in any other census ?
Looking for "John Touzels" parents , siblings etc and general whereabouts between his birth and 1911 !
Born about 1867 St Heliers Jersey (though it states St Helens Jersey in 1911 census) his entry was filled in by mistake , as he wasnt there as normal , and a line was put through it , thank heavans for mistakes !
I found a "Annie Touzel" (mother) and "John J Touzel" (son) in London in the 1881 census , not sure if this is him though. But the John J Touzel , does tie in with the signature on the 1911 census , even though he wasnt there ? .THIS IS NOT A DEFINITE SOURCE ON HIS MOTHERS NAME !
His Father is stated as "Thomas Touzel" deceased in their 1908 marriage certificate , it states "Goldsmith" as occupation ! i seem to doubt this though ? expected him to be a seaman, ship wright , carpenter, painter .
John Touzel is my Great Grandfather , ive searched everywhere i can think of and basically at the end of my tether with the lot of them :-)
Thank you
Ps. Im not really looking for possible individual sources , without a way of linking it to the person/family , as I can find hundreds of sources for individuals names , but is a pointless exercise , if those sources cant be tied to the person or family , them missing from the censuses between 1871 and 1901 is very frustrating , im sure they are there somewhere ?

There is an on line tree that gives John James Touzel born Jersey 1867 with parents Thomas George Touzel and Ann Amelia Griffith and his wife as Margaret Matilda Langmead. Death 30 Oct 1934 Southampton, Hampshire.
At the moment it wont let me in to see whether it is properly resourced.

Did he die in Hampshire 1934? If so probate mentions a Maurice Wilfred Nicholas Touzel ** forest labourer for you to investigate!
** I see he was born 1911 - son of John and MMN Langmead.

Thank you both , all the public tree's with his line in , are unsourced without one iota of a connection to him !!
And as stated , im not looking for anything past 1911 , as ive got all of that info !
Thanks again

Just to add to the confusion, I had a few spare minutes this morning so looked for a John Touzel born c1867. I looked in all 12 Jersey Parishes for a number of years either side of 1867, and couldn't find a birth.
Now, I wanted to look at the 1911 census for the family, but can't find it using FindMyPast. Can you give me the census reference please?

Would there be a reason that I cant find him on the parish birth registers ?

The St. Helier baptisms are available on-line at the Jersey Archive http://catalogue.jerseyheritage.org/ but it is a subscription site. Even then, there are only a number of Parish's available.
I have looked at the St. Helier baptisms and the only John Filleul Touzel is born 21/12/1865, baptised 18/02/1866, father Helier a carpenter and mother Ann Le Bailly. God-parents were Aaron Filleu and Elizabeth Touzel, his wife. There are no other John Touzel's in that Parish
