My sister in law has just died and we have found these photos of my husbands Dad Alan McIntyre who died in Dorset England in 1964, I never knew him. There is also one of my sister in law. I have scanned them in at 600dpi but they almost look like negatives. Have I done something wrong? I have done some before. Any help would be appreciated

Hi Janet,
It looks like that the photographs have not been scanned as a "photograph" ???
On my scanner I have multiple options that I can choose, colour photograph, b & W Photograph, Magazine, newsprint etc It look like what ever option you have chosen has no range of tones between black and white which is why you only see the images in black or white.. Have a go at scanning again you will need to edit the image filename if you post again ;)
Regards
Sarah

I agree Sarah and was just about to say the same...It looks like the Magazine or newspaper option is set rather than the photograph option....also make sure you choose the colour mode.

I have redone them, I think I had them scanned as black and white, they look much better now. I will need to attach them in 2 posts
