Hi everyone,
I need some help and maybe a fresh set of eyes to check for baptism and marriage.
I've found my ancestors
George Hunt & Elizabeth ???
Mary Hunt bapt 8 Jun 1702 St Bartholomew church, Wednesbury
Mary married Samuel Hyde 28 May 1719 St Bartholomew church, Wednesbury
I've obtained the will of Samuel Hide of Rushall, Staffordshire 1731 and he mentions his father in law George Hunt of Wednesbury. Samuel also mentions wife Mary and his land in Wednesbury.
I also obtained the will of George Hunt of Wednesbury 1730 probate 1737
George mentions daughters, grandchildren and his sister Elizabeth Rawbone of Walsall.
I can't find a marriage for George Hunt & Elizabeth.
I can't find a bapt' for George or his sister Elizabeth.
I can't find the marriage of George's sister Elizabeth & Rawbone (strange surname). They seemed to have resided at Walsall so maybe the Hunt family has some connection.
I can't find anything so any help would be fantastic on the above.
Many thanks
Adrian

(appears to be Mary buried 30 Nov 1700)

Hi Trish,
Many thanks for your input.
George's will is well preserved and the contents easy to read and it does state Rawbone. I forgot to mention it also mentions two shillings to Joan Ball of Walsall.
His daughters marry:
19 Feb 1725 Wednesbury
Eleanor Hunt & Harvey Warklate
Jane Hunt & John Constable
I can't find any marriage but mentioned in George's will including their children: Ellen, George & William Constable.
7 Feb 1731 Wednesbury
Mary Hyde & Robert Spittle (George in will mentions Robert Spittle son in law)
I assumed this is his daughter who married Samuel Hyde, however Samuel wrote and signed his will 13 June 1731 and probate granted in Nov 1731. In Samuel's will he clearly states that George Hunt father in law is an exec' of his will. Mary wife of Samuel couldn't have married Robert Spittle before her husbands death. Confused I am
Kind regards
Adrian

Hi,
I believe I may have finally found the marriage entry for George & Elizabeth but of course, I've found another issue ;D
The information written in the original parish records is faded and almost impossible to read however I believe there is enough to indicate this is the correct entry:
Saint Bartholomew, Wednesbury, Staffordshire, England
17 June 1700
George H??? of Walsall married Elizabeth ?? of this town
I know it's a long shot but any ideas on how I could clarify this?
Is there a transcript of the Wednesbury parish records?
Any help would be fantastic but I know it's a long shot.
Kind regards
Adrian

Got a feeling there's a bound book of transcripts for st barts in Walsall archives. Don't know what years they cover. Also they are on reduced opening times until their move to the town centre.

Hi,
This is the image I believe is my ancestors' marriage entry June 17th as mentioned.
Any idea what the surname is? It's prior to of this town.
It's a long shot but maybe some ideas?
Many thanks
Adrian
