Looking information on John Coleman, Born 1848 Co. Waterford, according to 1911 census lived with his wife Mary, Grand son Martin, Grandaughter Mary.

If it is, despite the discrepancies I think this is him in 1901

It was common to add 10 years or so to your age in 1911 in the hope of getting a pension which had been introduced in 1909.
So a birth date circa 1856 is more likely.
They are living on the same street, and keeping boarders, John's occupation is the same in both and he can not read or write which could explain the different county's of birth.
Need more looking into obviously, if the 1911 family is the correct one.

If it's the John Coleman who married Mary Dwyer in Caher in 1870, the marriage shows his father was also John Coleman, a labourer.
However, there are lots of John Colemans with father called John born in the indicated timeframe in counties Tipperary and Waterford...
