Hi DollyBrush

WELCOME TO ROOTSCHAT!

A question or 2 before we start.

What do you know about his family (before he left)
How do you know he left in 1910
Have you posted queries anywhere else?

If you want to post again (2x) (you only need to say hello) then Rootschatters will be able to contact you via the messaging system (pm), IF NECESSARY.

Do not forget to tell people information shared that way . . . . .

This will ALL definitely save duplication of effort by Rootschatters NOT having to repeat research where you already have the detail.

Ray

There is this person on a passenger list, no further information. What was your grandfather's occupation and was he married at the time? This one was single.

WILLIAM ARMSTRONG
Age   35
Birth    1875
Single
Labourer
9th April 1910
Departure port   Londonderry
Destination port   Halifax, Canada
Ship name   NUMIDIAN

What was the date on the letter? Obviously if it was after 9th April we can rule this one out.

Any month? If it's after April, that eliminates the passenger I gave you earlier.

Hello,

You say that your grandfather went away for months at a time.
Were your grandfather's family in Canada or England?

Was 1910 the last time he was known to his family?

Hello again,
From your personal message it seems that you know very little re William.
Do you havehim in any censuses?
Can you give us any details of his marriage? It may help to pinpoint a year of birth and an occupation.

Regards
Heywood

it may be better to post on the Canadian board http://www.rootschat.com/forum/canada-lookup-request/  re Mr Parker and to see if there is any sight of your grandfather in Canada.
