I think I've traced my ancestry back to Elizabeth GOODCHILD of White Waltham in Berkshire. She had a sister, my ancestor, named Lucy.
Elizabeth married Thomas Neale and had a daughter, Lucy who married John Blanch and emigrated to Australia where they settled at Raymond Terrace, New South Wales.
I would be interested in locating a member of this family. who has descended through the maternal line and has had, or is willing to take a MTDna test, or any descendent of the family sho would like to investigate a connection :)
Here's hoping and a Merry Christmas to all!

Have you checked "Surnames Interest Board",at the bottom of this page?

The BLANCH family are very much old settlers of all areas of Port Stephens the local Government area encompassing Raymond Terrace where the headquarters are. A White Pages search will show many Possibilities.

Hi there,
I know this post is old, but may I ask you:
- what were your sources that you believe that Elizabeth Goodchild had a sister Lucy?
- and who were their parents?
Thank you, AB

I'm not sure where flipflops information came from. There is a death on the NSW BDM index for a Lucy BLANCH at Raymond Terrace in 1876 which has parents' names William and Elizabeth. (9695/1876 )
https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/142251737/lucy-blanch
Possibly this marriage - John BLANCH married Lucy NEAL 10 March 1839 at Rolvenden, Kent.
Modified to add:
Though there is a passenger list for the Cornwall in 1839 which has Lucy BLANCHE (married female immigrant) which states her parents are Thomas NEALE (sawyer) and Elizabeth, all of Buckinghamshire. whcih fits with flipflops' story.

This link suggests Lucy is the daughter of Thomas Neale and Elizabeth Goodchild
Lucy (Neale) Blanch (1818 - 1876) https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Neale-1127

Thankyou for your replies.
I know about Lucy Blanch (née Neale) who is the daughter of Thomas and Eliza Neale (nee Goodchild).
I am interested in knowing what evidence there is to support if Lucy Blanch had an aunt called Lucy Goodchild (Lucy Blanch’s mother’s sister).
Any assistance would be great.
