Post by: daisy duck on Friday 23 July 04 01:43 BST (UK)
Grandfather Thomas Glynn emigrated with mother Mary Glynn to U.S.A in 1851 on board ship Ottawa landing in New York October of that year. He took  American Naturalisation out at some point  and came to holiday on vacation to England c 1876 where he met and married my Grandmother and so never returned to states. Hewas born in Co Mayo c 1843. Need to find him on 1860 or 1870 census, possible New York, anyone able to help, finfers crossed. Daisy duck

do you have a rough age for Thomas and his mother.
I checked the 1860/70 census and it like going to Ireland looking for a O'Reily.

Arrived at New Orleans Louisiana

Mary Glynn age 35
Mary Glynn age 7
Catherine Glynn age 9
Thomas Glynn age 11
