1851 census. Seeking help for a dead end. Robina Winter was my great grandmother but cannot trace her parents. I was informed she appears in the 1851 Ayton census at the home of her grandfather whose name could be Robert Winter. Would appreciate a lookup of the census to see if this information is correct and whether there is any mention of her grandmother.

Have you checked the 1841 census to see if she was on it and if her parents names might be there AND/OR the grandfathers name ?
I took a quick look and M.Is for Ayton, and find no WINTERs.
sorry!

Thanks for the response re Robina Winter. She would have only been 6 years old in 1851 so can't go back any further with her on that front. Appreciate your reply.

Hi Dargil,
Perhaps this is too late but I have the most recent M.I.'s from Ayton and have found 2 Winter headstones. One is by Robert Winter, Ayton - children, Elizabeth d. 26.8.1822 8mths and Janet Hacket 16.4.36 12yrs
There is nothing for Robert or his wife.

Thanks Emma
I don't think anyone knew their correct age in those days but they're both definitely my lot.
Cheers, Gillian
