I have posted this photo before on this forum many moons ago, and someone was able to tell me when the photographer was in business, but I seem to have mislaid all the info. So, I thought I'd ask again. Do forgive me.
Edward was born Norfolk in 1830 and was a shepherd.

Thank you sarah,
How did you find that?
By the way, my name is Dan. My surname is 'Molloy'.

Can you post the back Dan if you have it...it helps narrow down the possibilities...his beard style is called a "Newgate Frill" which was popular from the 1860s onward. He has a very young face.

Thanks for the help Sarah.
Treetotal (Carol), I'm afraid the original is in NZ. I only have a copy of the front.

I think your photo could be 1880s but I can't find the photographer before the 1890s ::)
I would wait for Jim for a date on this one.

I think you will find that the pattern of the smock, stitching and style etc, that he is wearing, is particular to the area that he lived.
It is a wonderful photograph.
