Hi I'm new to RootsChat
Trying to find the parents of Susannah Sissey born 1823/4 at Leverington
She married Henry Coulson 22/01.1844
Henry was born 1820/1 at Rings End (Guyhirn)
In 1841 I found a Susan Sirey aged 15 born (1822-26)
at South Bank Wisbech St Mary with Robert Coulson c. 1807 & Hanah
Robert could be the Uncle of Henry Coulson 1820/1
Any help with Sissey or Sissee or Sirey, Coulson families would be much appreciated.

Hi
Is any fathers name/occupation shown on the 1844 marriage cert
-
1844 Father unknown -that's the problem
-
The marriage was on 22 January 1844 and Susannah was a 21 year old Spinster. Witnesses were Benjamin & Mary Ann Coulson so no help either

There is a Susanna Siggee mother Susanna single woman baptised in Leverington 16 May 1824 on freereg - Abode Church End - church St Leonard, Leverington

Thanks Rosie99
Looks like just the mother as a single woman. That was quick! I can now research the Siggee link!
Great!

There is a burial in 1823 for a 23yr old Susanna Sizzee at Thorney Abbey St Mary and St Botolph in Cambridge
-
Looking at Cambridge births on Family Search for surname Sissee turns up spellings of Sessey, Sassey, Seissey
-
Interesting. Perhaps a late Baptism for Susanna Siggee after her mother's death?
Thanks again

Hi.
Just came across your message. I am a descendant of Samuel Sissey and Elizabeth Stoote from Wisbech. This branch of the family later moved to Barking in Essex. Samuel's parents were Samuel (1735) and Sarah? I think there was also a son William. I have not investigated the other members of the Sissey Family in Wisbech but it is quite probable that they stayed in Wisbech. Hopefully this will give you some new clues.

Very interesting re Sissey
Sissey is on my mother's side AND Slote on my father's
The Slotes were recorded as Sloat Slote and now Sloote!
I'll check it all out.
