"...I have a date 26Jan 1864"
Where did you find this date?
Where does Australia feature in this research?

Well, this previous thread may help a little with some background, especially reply#9

James S BEVAN married Rosa B EARLE in 1883 in NSW and Phoebe was born almost 20 years earlier in 1864.
What do you know about James and Rosa prior to 1883? Why do you think that Phoebe was a daughter to both of them, rather than just one or the other?
When Phoebe married, where did she say she was born?
Debra :)

Hi Dundee,
I know that Rosa came to Australia 15th March 1859 arrived in Melbourne.
within the 1st year here she was pregnant with twins born 1861 died 1861.Phoebe came along in 1864.
She married James in 1883 what happened in between time who knows. On Phoebe marriage cert it says New Zealand , maybe that was what she was told. I think maybe she was aborigine.

Hi , i am seeking info on Phoebe Constance Bevan - she was my great great grandmother
-
Hi all , Phoebe Constance Bevan was my Great -Great -Grandmother - Her mother was born an Earle - I have been researching her for a long time and have been unable to find her birth certificate. I have a strong feeling that she was aboriginal as I have photos of my Great Grandmother and Grandmother standing side by side and they are both very dark in their skin colour. My Grandmother died the year I was born so did not meet her but I have a few photos of her. I would love to find her origins as it says that her parents were from UK. Any information that anyone has would be amazing.
-
Hi Emma,
Phoebe was my husband's G G Grandmother also.
Her son Rubert was my husband's grandfather.
Was your grandmothers name Mazie April.
I also have been searching for many years and have found nothing.
I also think she was aboriginal.
I will go through my papers to see what i can find about Rosa Earle.
-
Hi Chezza60 ,
That is amazing. My G G Grandmother was Alice Rosa Rostron and she went on to marry Henry James Hodge. My Grandmother was Elsie Alice and she married William Talbot. My father was also William Talbot. Dad passed away a couple years ago. He remembered going to the farm where his grandmother worked and that the aboriginal children were not allowed to go to the local hospital if they were hurt or sick.
I have a lot of information about the other children that are put down as Phoebes siblings - the older twins who died did not have a father listed so I think that Rosa Bolton , their mother , either had these children to another person and that she took Phoebe in as a baby or that one of the aboriginals on Tara Station hooked up with her. All of the dates do not add up with Phoebe and the other children. I have sent off to get help with chasing down a birth certificate from Birth Deaths and marriages - There is no certificate in the system for both NSW and Victoria.
-
Hi Emma,
I agree with all you have said that was our guess that Rosa took in Phoebe in as a aboriginal child.
We have a relation that has done extensive search trying to find anything on Phoebe yet has found nothing.
good to touch base if i come across anything will let you know.
Cheers
Cheryl
