Wondering if any of you good folks would have information on the above. I think he may have been the second husband of Margaret Short/Crichton/Mcgregor. He seems to have disappeared from the scene but I found a death cert for a Robert who died in Murthly Asylum 14/3/1905 aged 50. Can I find out if he was Margaret's husband and why he was in the Asylum???

Hi, my great-great grandmother was also a patient at Murthly. The census for 1901 might give you some more information about your ancestor. Occupation and marital status are recorded. Patients who became mentally ill (as opposed to being born with a condition) are all recorded as "lunatic" so it is impossible to know exactly what was wrong from the census.

Hi SL,
If you could add some more info. such as dates/ages, where/when married, their parents names & his occupation as others may recognise them & be able to help?
Did they have children together?
If so, details for them would be an advantage too.
What does his death cert. tell you?
