Title: Register of Births, Deaths and Marriages, Melbourne
Post by: jai5 on Tuesday 10 November 15 05:24 GMT (UK)
In the last 4 weeks I have had to ring the RBDM twice.  The first time I waited for 1 hour and 41 minutes, the next time I had to wait 1 hour 46 minutes.  When I politely told the operator how long I had to wait they both said that was a normal amount of time it usually takes.  I think this is totally unacceptable, but they don't care.  I'm feeling a little better now, I just had to have a rant.

presuming you are speaking of Melbourne, Australia, Jai?
Why don't you write a letter of complaint to the Government Minister responsible?
A 'ministerial complaint' has to be acted upon by the organisation concerned.
Maybe they are short-staffed?  Short-budgeted?

That's a good idea Dawn M.  I had tried to make a complaint when I was on the phone to them, but when I asked to be put through to a manager I got cut off.  Very frustrating.
