This photograph was found amongst my grandmother's photographs.

I suspect it may be her father who died in 1900 just a few weeks before she was born, but I don't know for sure. It has been suggested it could be one of her brothers but that would put it post WW1 and it looks older to me though I'm no expert.
If anyone give me an idea of what date this might be I would much appreciate it. I'll never know for sure but would like to think it is my great grandfather.

I have a family photo from 1891/2 with the same collar style/buttoning. Based on that, it could very well be her father.

This style of dress was popular over a long period from the 1870's & well into the Edwardian Era.
The fact this is an oval vignette suggests the 1890's as this type of photo made a brief comeback in that decade.
