Title: can it be made clearer ?
Post by: mcfc1923 on Thursday 14 July 05 10:20 BST (UK)
this is the only photo i have of my gt grandfather Thomas Dawson, he served in the boar war and the great war and at the age of 62 while serving in the merchant navy as a fireman on HMS Sitala, his shipwas sunk bu a uboat in 1940 and he was the only member of the crew who did not survive.

This is a copy of the original so i'm not sure if anything can be done to make the picture clearer, but would be very grateful for any help, and if anyone thinks they could date the photo that would be great.

much appreciated

Regards

Jim

I had a crack at this as well. It's a difficult one. I used the Highpass filter and neat image to try and smooth some of the grainy noise then added a slight sepia.
