Title: Help with a very elusive Thomas BRAY GLEW if possible
Post by: heaven on Tuesday 03 November 15 00:42 GMT (UK)
I have a Baptism record for a THOMAS BRAY GLEW 16 May 1817 in Sussex, son of Thomas Glew and Thomasine Davis. I can't find any more records for him.
He was the first born of 10 children, it seems the family lived in Rogate. I have most records for other family members, however I am at a loss with THOMAS BRAY.

The surname swaps between GLUE and GLEW.
Any help would be much appreciated.

The baptism record on FreeReg has his father as Thomas Glew, soldier.

There is a Thomas Glew b c. 1819 in Rogate in the British Army records - will have a look & see if it might be him. Other than place of birth matching no other clues. Intended place of future residence looks like Kingston but can't read the other words underneath.

Just browsing and notice your post regarding Thomas Bray Glue of Rogate . I have a copy of his army service record . We live in West Sussex and I have done a lot of Glue/ Glew research in the past . we are direct descendants of his brother William.
