Hi Can anyone give me information on the Woodhouse family from Milborne Port, Somerset. My Great Grandfather was William John Woodhouse who lived in M.Port with his wife, Bessie. She died not long after childbirth. I have a photo of William in Army uniform taken in India but I know very little about him or his family.
Thanks

Have you any idea when he was born and when his wife died - even a decade would do to start with.
What was the name of the child?
I can see a William John born about 1871 - is that likely to be the one you are after?
-
Is this Bessie's death?
Deaths March quarter 1904
Bessie Spicer Woodhouse age 32 Wincanton 5c 312
and their marriage?
Marriages December quarter 1899
Bessie Spicer Sanson Wincanton 5c 937
William John Woodhouse Wincanton 5c 937
Have you applied for the marriage certificate for his Father's name?
-
Where and when was the child born - and also their name?
Thank-you

Have you found him in the other censuses, as is an obvious place to start?
Have you also got his birth certificate, for confirmation?

Milliepede & chempat
Many thanks. I should say that I have looked at some census records at a records office but not yet accessed them online (lack of time) but I wondered of anyone had already done some of the work!
Yes, Milliepede the William John born 1871/1872 is the one. The child was Stanley William born 1904 & Bessie died 1904. I have Bessie's death cert.
chempat, yes that's Bessie & the marriage. I haven't applied for any other certs yet as I'm just beginning another round of research. You have Stanley & Jack (a cousin). Thank you for the 1901 info.
You are both great, thanks.
