NSW BDM George Hedley HAYWARD's death was more than 30 years ago, so this record is now available to any member of the general public. #15921 is the reference no. It should give you details of his family, including marriage, name of informant. The information on an official transcription is same as on real deal cert, and arrives quicker, as email attachment and is cheaper.

The notice posted indicates she had no children of her own.
This article about her first marriage also doesn't mention children - they were not together for long:

Includes a lovely photo of Marjorie :)

Hi there,
I would expect that your Godmother was one of the witnesses at your mother's marriage, and as bridesmaid she may have signed the certificate.
Do you have a copy of the marriage registration?
Here is a newspaper cutting regarding Marjorie's parents. It refers to Marjorie by all her given names and as Mrs Winnie, and gives her parents address, and her Dad's occupation. My late Gran often said to me "Don't believe anything you read in that RAG, especially if you also heard it over the back fence", however, there's names and addresses and dates and other family history details in the article that may help to give clues to confirm or eliminate this particular Marjorie from your enquiries. http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/168972563 Sunday 15 November 1942 Truth.
The Divorce papers for Marjorie's parents are held at NSW State Records Office. :)

Thanks so much JM,
there is too much in that article that I recognise for it not to be the family I am looking for, I now know the connection, the name Veitch was what I was looking for.
Thanks again
I am ordering my parents marriage cert tonight - Mum passed last year and all her papers are still in different family hands and until we can put them together I might as well get a transcript.
