Hi
I am trying to see if I can find out what happened to Beatrice and Eileen Wallbank. They were twins and their birth was registered in Dec 1920 in St Thomas Devon. Their parents were George Ernest Wallbank and Beatrice Kerslake. Unfortunately Beatrice died at the age of 38 after giving birth to the girls. and her death is registered in Dec 1920.
I know George remarries again the following year to Mabel Toms then emigrates to quebec Canada in june 1921. He is in Oshawa, in November 1921.
What I would like to know is what happened with Beatrice and Eileen, so far found no death certificates for them or even any marriages, so did they stay with their grandparents in Devon or did George eventually come back and claim his daughters.
Thanking you in advance

They could still be alive ;)

Why do you know that they were twins and not 1 child indexed twice? The reason I bring this up is that 'Beatrice' has 3 middle names but 'Eileen' only 2 and it might be that a daughter was born registered as Eileen C.N. and then the name Beatrice (for her mother) added thus showing 2 entries on the page.
However, an online tree (with lots of detail) has Beatrice E.C.N. Wallbank as the daughter of a William C.A. Kerslake & Annie Rosina Barlow, born 2 Nov.1920 and died 2006. No mention of Eileen there.
Same person has another tree with Beatrice on it except the parents listed as George E. Wallbank & Beatrice E. Kerslake. Still no twin Eileen mentioned.

If Beatrice's birth mother was née Kerslake, perhaps the Kerslake/Barlow couple were (related) adoptive parents?
-
Yes, that looks to be the case. Beatrice's 1937 first marriage is on FreeBMD (under Kerslake). However, neither version of the family tree mentions any sibling.

Thank you for the replies, yes I wonder about Eileen too could be true that Beatrice was added as the 1st name. will investigate the kerslake/barlow information, he may have been Beatrice;s uncle. Still cant understand why her dad never came back for her!!!!!!

Hi
I can shed some light on this Beatrice E C N and Eileen are the same person.
Beatrice's mother Beatrice died in childbirth and so Beatrice was cared for by William Kerslake and Annie Barlow, William had remarried after the death of his wife Kitty (Katie) in a fire in 1914.
They moved from Totnes to Cheltenham and took Beatrice with them.
Beatrice later had a least one child named Yvonne
