If you look at the online trees properly they are mostly up the pole - I don't think anyone has realised that there are 2 couples named James and Elizabeth Campbell's in Northumberland with almost identical ages!
I don't believe your James (son of John) is the one who married Elizabeth Dobson (dau. of Joseph) on 22/5/1849 St. Andrews, Newcastle upon Tyne.. As has already been posted a plain Mary bp'd to this couple 12/9/1852 (mothers maiden name given). Looks like a dau. Jane bp.22/10/1854 too (although mothers name shown as Orbeson??)
I think that James Campbell and Elizabeth Dobson are probably this couple:
1861 Westgate, Northumberland - ref. RG9/3814/59/35
Janes Campbell 33 Boiler Smith born Tadnat, Northumberland ??
Elizebt Campbell 31 born Bedlington, Northumberland
Jane Campbell 6 born Newcastle upon Tyne
Marg. Campbell 4 born ditto
The enumerator has unfortunately shortened most of the longer words so heaven knows what 'Tadnat' is supposed to be.
OP's family being:
1861 - Cramlington, Northumberland - ref. RG9/3851/95/48
James Campbell 33 Plate Layer North Eastern Rail born Haltwhistle, Northumberland ??
Elizabeth Campbell 29 born Sadberge, Durham
Mary Campbell 9 born Newcastle
John Campbell 5 ditto
Elizabeth Campbell 2 born Blyth
Wm. Campbell 6mos ditto
Note: on both 1871 and 1881 Census James states he was born Alston, Cumberland!!
It's a shame that Campbell was such a common name in the area as even finding the right birth certificates is difficult. The least common name in these 2 families is the Margaret Campbell born Mar.1857 Newcastle - her birth certificate would at least give her mothers maiden name - if Dobson then definitely not OP's Elizabeth. If, however, it's a different maiden name for Elizabeth then it would indeed seem that Elizabeth Dobson is the right lady after all.
Best I can come up with in the absence of online records for the relevant events.

There is another James Campbell marriage in Newcastle in the right time frame. Dec qtr 1850. One of the possible brides is an Elizabeth Hutchinson.
Married Elizabeth Campbell is consistently on census as born Sadberge 1831/1832.
There is an Elizabeth Hutchinson baptism in Sadberge, 8 Jan 1832, daughter of William Hutchinson (Publican) and Mary. William and Mary had other children baptized at Sadberge, Jane 1827, John 1829, Ann 1834, William 1836, and Mary 1839.
Mary Jane Campbell (Williamson) is down as born Byker Hill 1851/1852 in 1871 census, and another census, and Byker in 1881 census.
The Hutchinson family have moved from Sadberge to Byker by at least 1851.
1861 census, 21 Byker Hill,
William Hutchinson, 64, Ag. Lab., b. Sadberge, Durham,
Mary Hutchinson, wife, 54, Long Newton, Durham,
Isabella Hutchinson, dau, 15, b. Gainford, Durham,
George Hutchinson, son, 6, b. Byker,
RG 9/3833/45/3
Two doors away is John Hutchinson, Tailor, 30, b. Sadberge, Durham.
This appears to be the same family in 1851, although claiming they are all born Gateshead for some strange reason.
Byker Lane, Byker
William Hutchinson, 54, Ag Lab, b. Gateshead,
Mary Hutchinson, wife, 44, b. Gateshead,
John Hutchinson, son 21, Tailor, b. Gateshead,
William Hutchinson, son, 14, b. Gateshead,
Margaret Hutchinson, dau, 8, b. Gateshead,
Isabella Hutchinson, dau, 5, b. Gateshead,
HO107/2408/202/62
William Hutchinson (Innkeeper) bachelor, married Mary Potts, spinster, by license, Sadberge 8 Nov 1827.
Elizabeth Campbell has a daughter, Jane H. Campbell, age 27, born Dudley, Northumberland, living with her in 1901. A birth on FreeBMD, Tynemouth, Mar 1873. Jane Hutchinson Campbell. Do a search for a person with that name in the census that can't be mentioned.
You could order James Campbell 1850 marriage cert, conditional on the bride being Elizabeth Hutchinson and not one of the others.
