Hi,

Would like to find out when and where Harriett Elizabeth Emma Clare was baptised and when her birthday was. All I know is that she was born in 1885, London.

Birth  registration  Dec 1885

Clare  Harriett Elizabeth E     Holborn  1b 823

Can't see a  baptism for  her      even if there was   it  may not show  her  birthdate,  as  not all church officials  put the actual birthdate down ,   getting the cert maybe a better  option ,

That is a registration in the October - December quarter, so it could easily be a September birth.

Tabitha,

Jan has inserted the quarter end -- ie quarter ending December 1885. This means Harriett was born in October, November or December 1885. She could have been born in September - with the actual registration only taking place in October.

Births, marriages and deaths were divided and recorded in 'quarters' of the year.

admitted 26.8.95
Clare  Harriet, father John, 20 Peerless St, d-o-b 10.9.85
also (admitted same time)
Clare  Elizabeth, d-o-b 14.9.87

Is that her?
Maybe ought to say that those birth dates in the school records aren't always right (or so I've found!)
