Hi Liverbird1
1855 BMDs are great if you get one. The first year of official registration in Scotland and for one year only, the certs ran over two pages of the register and for that year only, lots of additional info was included.
The is the cert you need here https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XYGN-WGQ. You can view the original image on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/ This birth cert should include where and when parents married, their ages, where they were from, how many children they had (alived/deceased, girls/boys).
Have you got further census entries for the family? Have you looked for death certs for Thomas' parents? If they died in Scotland, death certs includes parents' names if known to the informant.

PS: One other likely child here in 1850 https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XB9Y-XYY

That looks promising, keyboard86 :) Unless unlucky and John Williamson dieing at the end of 1854, his death cert should also be on Scotlands People, to confirm his parents' names.

Thanks guys I'm working my way through this atm, Mary Brown her baptism states John & Jane Chisholm :) So I really do think that is a daughter.
I have done a birth search on scottishpeople for a plus/minus 5 year from 1819 and the only one that shows up is:
1 02/08/1817 WILLIAMSON JOHN DONALD WILLIAMSON/MARTHA ROSE M INVERNESS
and a death:
1 1855 WILLIAMSON JOHN M 38 INVERNESS BURGH /INVERNES which shows the following: ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hi - I have these names :-)
John Williamson, born 1814 in Inverness to Thomas Williamson & Margaret Grant, married Jane Chisholm, born 1824 in Beauly. They married in Inverness in1844, at the same time as their respective sister & brother married each other! Jane (aka Jean) Chisholm's parents were Joseph Chisholm & Mary Brown.
I have more info on both these families, but am most looking into finding out what happened to John Williamson's sisters - Jean (b.1812), Mary (b.1823), Margaret (b.1826) & Hannah (b.1829). I'm directly related to his other sister Delicia (b.1818) - anyone have any info?
Thanks!
